SOUTH NORWALK, CT —
In the first of a planned program of product extensions, Weathervane Hill/Roth Fabrics has signed a licensing agreement with York Wallcoverings.
The first collection will be launched in January and will include sidewalls, borders and coordinating fabrics as well as decorative pillows and window valances that will be produced by York, according to Tom Roth, president of Weathervane Hill/Roth Fabrics.
Discussing the product expansion, Roth said, "Weathervane Hill has a unique look, and a real feel. It's more than just a fabric company. There's a sensitivity. We've created a look and integrity of design."
The York collection is based on Weathervane Hill's Forgotten Gardens collection, which spans florals, kids designs and whimsical patterns, Roth said.
Beyond wallcoverings, Roth plans to expand the company's signature looks into window shades, rugs and dinnerware — "all logical extensions of our looks," he said.
Roth noted that the companies in discussions for licensing "are highly visible, well known in the market." And with those companies, he said, "we can build a company that has a strong identity."
We would love your feedback!
