PJ Kids Injects Innovation

At The New York Market —
PJ Kids is launching a new line of dyed rugs created with a process that injects the dye into the yarns after the rug has been woven.
The resolution of the rug designs are increased by the process, contends the company, compared to a screened rug which lays the dye on the top of the rug. Once the dyes are infused into the yarns, they are then trimmed and carved to make the rug look as if it were sculpted. The process aims to assure that there is no white area showing on the rugs.
Also, PJ Kids stated that the carving enhances the texture and dimension of the rugs.
All 10 rugs are 3-by-5 with a non-skid backing.
PJ Kids has designed the dyed rugs to coordinate its bedding themes.
There are three sports rugs: All Sports, Baseball Diamond and Soccer Field. In the nautical category there is Boats and Buoys. Camo Fatigue matches the Camo Supply theme. For girls, Floral Patchwork and Petite Floral coordinate with Dollhouse and the new Floral Patchwork, plus Petite Chic. In a boys transportation pattern, On the Go and Raceway are being offered. Finally, Outer Space features images of the solar system.
The company has also been active on the infant and juvenile front. PJ Kids is launching an all-cotton Dollhouse Quilt in nursery through full sizes with coordinating patchwork bed skirt, floor pillow, window treatments, decorative pillows and rugs.
The company is featuring its Floral Patchwork all-cotton nursery bedding, which also comes in twin and full sizes, as sets that include a quilt, sheet, bed skirt and crib bumpers. The pattern has complementing floor pillow, window treatments, decorative pillows and rugs. The new textiles line includes four-piece nursery sets, which consist of a comforter, sheet, crib bumper and crib skirt, musical mobiles, and diaper stackers. The twin and full comforter and quilt sets, along with sheets that coordinate with each bedding pattern, are also available. Window treatments are also included in the assortment with valance and curtain panels for most of the collections.
