At the New York Market —
Croscill is putting an emphasis on modern living this week with several bedding collections it is showing in an area called the Metropolitan Room.
"This addresses the urban master bedroom. It's a formal look — upscale modern," said Julie Brady, office of the president.
Central to that look are quilted coverlets with metallic features, pieced top of bed offerings, black and khaki combinations, as well as graphic florals with sets priced from $229 go $249.
"We're not abandoning the traditional master bedroom, but we do think this is important," Brady said.
In traditional, Croscill is moving away from tassels into embroideries and taped ribbon embellishments as well as embossed jacquards.
Croscill's top-of-the-line White Label luxury program is also expanding. The program now has six beds placed, with six new offerings on display this week. "We're driving the brand up instead of taking it down," said Brady. "We're also getting some interest for exporting with White Label."
New in the bath accessories area are Italian Florentine designs, metals with wood finishes, cast iron, cut crystal in a leaf designs and wicker group.
Croscill is also moving into three new product categories: pet beds, occasional furniture, and table lamps.
Croscill Pampered Pets beds utilize patterns from hit fashion bedding collections and are available in two sizes for $39 and $49 retails.
Croscill also offers The Beijing Bed for pets, a pad in Asian motifs with a pillow attached at the end.
"A lot of the pet beds out there are pretty pedestrian, but these offer a look to fit into a lifestyle," said Debbie Finn, product developer.
In accent furniture, Croscill is offering a whole range of choices, including demi-lune tables, consoles, drum tables, Bombay chest, jewelry chest, a screen, a porcelain garden seat, and a hope chest. Finishes range across black, washed, antique, and platinum. Retail prices are from $149 to $399.
Lamps include handblown glass with gold leaf, mother of pearl, handmade decals hand-applied on porcelain, and several other constructions. "Each is finished in a very specialized way," said Finn.
