Sixth AIT Award competition set for Heimtextil

-- Home Textiles Today, 12/17/2008 2:11:00 PM

Frankfurt, Germany – A jury of industry experts is set to honor textiles suppliers offering new product innovations with the AIT Innovation Award at the upcoming Heimtextil trade fair here Jan. 14-17.

The sixth Architecture, Textiles and Contract Business innovation prize will be presented to companies that are showing prototypes or products from the contract textiles, textile room divider or sun-protection systems, woven textiles, wall coverings and furniture segments “that are likely to be of interest to architects and interior designers,” said event producer Messe Frankfurt.

The jury consists of leading German architects, interior designers and decorators who will select “the most innovative textile solutions from all entries.”

All product submissions received by Jan.13 will be exhibited in a special show in the foyer of Hall 4.1, and will subsequently appear in the magazines AIT and xia Intelligente Architektur – both partners of Messe Frankfurt. Winners will be presented their awards at 5 p.m. on Jan. 14 in the foyer of Hall 4.1.

The awards will be given in two categories: one focusing on the synthesis between architecture and industry, and the other on products of high architectural quality.
