FIT Instructor GM For U.S. Subsidiary

New York — Shandong Longdi Textiles Co., Ltd. of Rizhao City, China has established an American subsidiary, Longdi Textiles USA, and has hired industry veteran Dick Silvia as general manager, U.S. sales and marketing.

Shandong Longdi Textiles is a private label manufacturer and direct importer of bath and area rugs, shower curtains, towels and quilted bedspreads working with both manufacturers and retailers.

“Mr. Silvia's extensive marketing background and industry knowledge will be instrumental in the growth of Longdi Textiles USA,” stated Wang Jimian, general manager of Shandong Longdi Textiles Company.

Longdi Textiles USA expects to be in a permanent showroom by the Spring Home Textiles Market.

Prior to his new position, Silvia was head of his own sales and consulting firm, RWS Marketing & Sales. He is also an adjunct instructor in the Textile Development and Marketing Department at FIT.
