New York —
Brand Matter LLC, owner of the Caribbean Joe brand has entered into an exclusive agreement with WestPoint Home for the brand’s home textiles.
The license includes fashion bedding, bedspreads, quilts, sheets, bedding accessories, beach towels, throws and an extensive line of kitchen products.
The home textiles products will launch at retail in late fall ’10 and spring ’11 and will focus on Caribbean Joe’s current retail distribution in apparel and accessories at leading department and specialty stores. These include Belk’s, Dillard’s, Bon Ton, Boscov’s, military bases and Beall’s, said Rick Platt, president of Brand Matter.
Under other labels the brand is known as C.J. Breeze at Sears, Havana Jack Café at Kohl’s and Jamaica Bay at JCPenney. All will feature the casual lifestyle ambience of the brand.
While Caribbean Joe has been in the apparel market for some time, as a home property it much earlier was briefly with the former Dan River, Platt said.
Platt said, “We are excited to add to our growing roster of licensees and to enter the strategically important home textiles category with WestPoint Home. I have known the executive team there for many years and respect the talent and dedication they have brought to this opportunity.”
John Piazza, president and ceo of WestPoint Home said, “We believe in partnering with great companies to build great brands. The WestPoint Home design department now has access to a rich archive of prints to develop this all encompassing program that we will launch at the upcoming March Market Week.”
We would love your feedback!
