Schwartz takes over as Kmart pres., coo

TROY, MI -Former Wal-Mart supercenter executive Mark Schwartz is replacing six-year Kmart veteran Andy Giancamilli, who has served as president and, since last July, as coo.

Giancamilli has stepped down to pursue other interests, Kmart announced.

Schwartz joined Kmart in September as executive vp, store operations.

Schwartz was formerly president and ceo of Big V Supermarkets, as well as a 16-year veteran of Wal-Mart, where held the posts of president and director of Wal-Mart superstores in Mexico and sr. vp for Wal-Mart Supercenter Stores.

The company added that David Rots was promoted to the post of executive vp and chief administrative officer.
