Shaw to Produce Angela Adams Area Rugs

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 10/13/2008 12:00:00 AM

Area rug and home textiles designer Angela Adams, well known for her organic and contemporary clean-lined themes and patterns, has partnered with Shaw Living to create a co-branded collection of area rugs.

Set to debut in early January during the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, the new line will feature Adams' modern designs interpreted on domestically made machine woven rugs constructed of Shaw's trademarked recyclable "Evertouch" nylon.

Evertouch is recyclable fiber that is re-made into nylon "again and again" at the company's Evergreen Nylon Recycling Facility in Augusta, Ga., the company said. To date, Shaw has recycled more than 100 million pounds of post-consumer nylon carpet.

Aside from eco-friendly construction attributes, the new Angela Adams collection will also depict earthy looks in organic color schemes — including warm spice colors, vibrant reds, gold, deep chocolate brown, bold indigo and lush green.

"Angela Adams products will enhance the Shaw Living mix in a way that will be exclusive to Shaw and the rug market. No one looks like Angela Adams except Angela Adams," said Neil Hegwood, Shaw Living's creative director. "Our team is proud to introduce this collaboration with such a powerful and beautiful brand essence."
