PLANO, Texas — JCPenney plans to open a JCPenney department store at Southern Hills Mall in Sioux City, Iowa. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 9:45 a.m.
During grand opening week, customers can register for prizes, including a new home theater package, a 2004 Vespa Motor Scooter and a desktop PC featuring a 15-inch LCD monitor. In addition, 10 shoppers will win $500 gift cards to be used toward any JCPenney purchase. Other activities include product demonstrations and special discounts.
The new JCPenney store at Southern Hills Mall, covering 100,439 square feet, represents a new format designed for greater shopping convenience, stated the company. The new format offers wider aisles for shopping carts, improved lighting and expedient customer service centers.
The store's full-service salon offers 21 stations for professional hair styling services, pedicures, manicures, salon-quality products and private rooms for waxing. In addition, customers can place orders or pick up catalog and Internet purchases at the store's catalog desk.
The company also plans to grand open a similar store at Cherryvale Mall in Rockford, Ill., at the same time. That store will measure 93,480 square feet.
