Dallas -- Feizy Import & Export looked to the Far East for the design direction of its newest area rug offerings set to debut at the High Point Market, which kicks off April 7.
Dubbed the Bling Dynasty Collections, this grouping of new rugs employs Asian-inspired motifs and patterns portrayed in a luxury-leaning and overt style of wealth, as its slang name connotes.
Explaining Feizy's Bling Dynasty launch, “It’s nearly impossible to find a designer that doesn’t use some Asian influence when decorating for the home,” said Steve Sorrow, vp of design and product development.
Sorrow and Feizy’s design team has created a variety of collections in different constructions and price points, to respond to the demand for Asian looks updated in modern colors and construction techniques.
The Bodhi Collection features an Asian tree-of-life pattern enhanced with fresh colors and metallic hues. It comes in six colorways and is hand knotted of New Zealand wool. A 5-foot-3-inch-by-7-foot-6-inch is set to retail for $230.
The TingTang Collection is what Feizy describes as “an offshoot of the Feng Shui style of decorating.” It comprises transitional designs in a wool loop and viscose pile construction in four designs of delicate leaves and florals. These rugs are hand-tufted. A 5-by-8 is priced at $430.
Chinese screen patterns are the source of inspiration for the Dim Sum Collection of hand-knotted rugs made of New Zealand wool and silk. A 5-foot-6-inch-by-8-foot-6-inch is set to retail for $1,490.
Other groups within Bling Dynasty include the patchwork floral Qing, the floral Renao, the power-loomed animal print Saphir, and the Japanese-inspired floral Tristesse.
