Taking note that ceramic tiles are growing in popularity, Bacova is introducing an indoor/outdoor line of Ornamental Tile Mats made of 100 percent recycled rubber with a polyester flock face and bright textured prints. Other new collections include Koko Ridge, a 100 percent natural coir fabric rug in extra-large sizes, and Pebble Berber mats, made of 100 percent olefin and space-dyed yarns and featuring a new tufted texture.

Three new collections will grace Capel's new showroom in New York. The Versailles collection of 160-line tufted rugs is made of 93 percent wool and 7 percent silk, the latter of which is used to accent rose bouquets in the design. Louvre features a design of lush roses. It is accented with silk and made of 93 percent wool and 7 percent silk. For its new outdoor lifestyle license, Dick Idol, Capel is introducing a collection of braided, woven and tufted rugs.

Natural fibers are the highlight of Kas Oriental's introductions for the fall market. Two new collections reflect this trend. Ambiance, a high-low, hand-tufted and hand-hooked combination of scatter rugs made of 100 percent wool, is available in 30 different designs and three sizes. And a complete line of natural fiber products — from scatter rug sizes through room-size rugs — in jute, sisal, hemp and sea grass all dyed in natural colors, are new.

Lacey is expanding on its existing Lacey Home accent rug line with the introduction of its new Studio collection of washable nylon-and-olefin-made rugs, which are constructed to look like sisal rugs, available in four patterns. Also new are additions to the juvenile Lacey Kids collection with the new Animal House whimsical design rugs. The juvenile line of shaped rugs is made of 100 percent acrylic and is machine washable.

A collection of 100 percent nylon novelty rugs will hit the market. Available in a 21" x 34" size, designs will include a teddy bear, sunflower and hearts. Also new is a collection of 100 percent, two-ply cotton rugs called Prelude. Available in white, linen, mint green, natural, slate, rose, celedon and grape, the towels have a high-loop pile. The Deco Plush rug, also 100 percent nylon with cut pile and bound all around with a non-skid rubber back, will also be re-introduced. This rug will be offered in an 18" x 30" wedge, three-piece bath set, and accent and scatter rugs.

Designs for Sophia are contemporary and feature soft palettes in gold, natural, white and earth tones. Additions to the existing Tibet and Chinois collection will also be introduced, as well as a new series of Persian Gabbehs for the existing Green mountain collection.

Nourison's domestics division will be introducing for the first time hand-tufted and hand-carved shaped rugs that are machine-washable. These rugs are all 100 percent poly-acrylic, and the designs will serve consumers looking for both adult and juvenile designs.
