At the New York Market – Nuanced changes in its signature looks mark the new bedding collection at Tommy Hilfiger Home for spring.
The company has updated its traditional floral approach, and moved into color blocking for its classical nautically inspired designs. In addition, in a move designed to help retailers’ inventories, solid color shams and bed skirts will be offered in the same fabric across the line, but in a wide color range, said Brad Comisar, vp, marketing.
In bedding the company is featuring five new designs with Poll House featuring a wave appliqué, highlighted with a blue and white shirting stripe. The shams have wide white flanges as accents. Dockside uses quadrant color blocks that are pieced and joined by decorative tape separators in a nautically inspired theme and coloring.
Pool Side reflects the influence of Miami in the 1960s and ’70s with a blue/yellow color statement. Moroccan Tent is a dramatic ombre stripe in rich spice colors.
In bath, “We are looking to attract the back-to-school market and the beach towels reflect the potential for that segment as well as a broader audience,” said Comisar. The Pool House design theme is replicated in towels as well as Peace Sign, an interpretation of the global icon; Fish, a dramatic fish drawing; and Starfish, a colorful design interpretation among the dozen new introductions.
