Troy, MI — Kmart continues to focus on SuperCenter expansion with the conversion of four Big Kmart stores to Kmart SuperCenters in Indianapolis.
The stores are the first Kmart SuperCenters in that market. All four stores will make their official "re-grand" opening as Kmart SuperCenters on July 20 and begin a four-week series of special events and giveaways.
The company also announced the promotion of Barbara Firment to the position of senior vp, advertising, sales and in-store presentation, effective immediately.
Firment will continue to report directly to James Adamson, Kmart chairman and ceo. Her responsibilities will include overseeing the weekly circular, newspaper advertising, direct mail production and in-store events and signage.
Firment joined Kmart as merchandise associate in 1970 and has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout her career, most recently as vp, advertising and in-store event marketing.
We would love your feedback!
