American Blankets adds Cheri Blum designs

DALTON, GA —

American Blanket Corp., a fledgling supplier of imported high-pile jacquard throws and blankets, has signed its first-ever designer license, with home fashions designer Cheri Blum.

The move marks a major milestone for a company founded only two years and nurtured by blanket industry veteran John Ginn, vp of sales and marketing.

American Blankets will launch the new line with three patterns at the upcoming April market and begin shipping around Aug. 1. "We plan to start with three proven winners — Narcissus, Asian Floral and Rose Trails — and then develop additional products as we move into the fall season," said Ginn.

During market week, American Blanket will show its line at the Avalon Hotel, 16 East 32nd St. Cheri Blum is represented by Wild Apple Licensing, Woodstock, VT.
