Hoffman Estates, Ill. —
Building on a 20-year exclusive brand partnership in the apparel segment, Kmart will introduce the Jaclyn Smith Home Collection to its shoppers online and in stores, starting Sept. 9.
The retailer said the initial line will feature four bedding ensembles – Spring Shadows, Willow, Tribeca and Gridlock – that will span traditional and transitional ("Today") looks. The four themes will also be offered in towels and bath accessories.
"The debut of the new Jaclyn Smith Home Collection marks an exciting time at Kmart," said Doug Wurl, vp, gmm of home fashions at Kmart parent Sears Holdings. "Introducing this new brand for the home allows us to bring the outstanding values in traditional and transitional lifestyle products that our customers have been asking for."
"My new home collection offers an easy way to make a great impression, time after time, all at a sensible price," said Smith, whose collection will join the launch of Cannon soft home goods as Kmart looks to spark consumer interest in a department that will see the exit of Martha Stewart Everyday by the end of 2009.
