Laura Ashley Goes Contemporary

Sugar Valley, Ga. — Mohawk Home is breeding a new generation of Laura Ashley rugs with a debut at market of more contemporary looks.

“We showed new design interpretations and updated the line with large-scale florals and other evolved patterns and colors that better speak to today's customer,” said Jim Quist, vice president, sales. “This group (of Laura Ashley rugs) is more appealing to a broader and younger consumer.”

The bulk of this group comprises wool and other natural fiber area rugs in 25 styles. There are also 15 polypropylene woven area rugs and 20 printed scattered sizes. Area rugs are priced between $149.99 and $299.99. Scatter rugs start at $29.99.

Also new to the Laura Ashley program are juvenile rugs in eight designs.
