Sunham Finds A New Home

Sunham Home Fashions has moved its new showroom to 136 Madison Avenue here.

While the company is calling the move for this market an “under construction” theme, the finished showroom will be launched for the fall market. The new space on the 16th floor is 16,000 square feet compared with 12,000 square feet in its previous five floor facility on Fifth Avenue.

For this market, the licensed brands — Lacoste and Angela Adams — will continue to be shown at 185 Madison Avenue at 34th Street. The brands will move to the company's new space for the fall market.

The single floor showroom will define Sunham as a whole home resource to the industry, said Jane Bognacki, president. All product categories — bedding, window, rugs and bath — will be featured. The single floor will highlight nine new bedding collections as part of the company's three lifestyle groupings — Verandah, Loft and Topography — each with good, better, best price points. Details include pieced, embellished and embroidered comforter ensembles, engineered and placement jacquards, innovative construction techniques, coordinated layered quilts, coverlets, throws and decorative accessories.

Some 20 to 30 new beds are featured in the private label bedding and quilt collections, while easy care and performance dominate the focus of the new sheet collection, Bognacki explained, including eco sensitive and bio wash and wrinkle-resistant benefits.

The window division highlights jacquards, embroideries and piecing. The bath division is expanding its performance yarn systems with 13 bath towel constructions.
