Warp & Weft Opens in New York's D&D Building
April 16, 2013,
"The D&D Building is where many of Manhattan's industry leaders, and the world's most renowned designers and top home furnishing companies conduct their business," said Michael Mandapati, founder of Warp & Weft. "Working in tandem with our Madison Avenue showroom, this was the natural next step for our company."
The D&D building has more than 120 showrooms representing more than 3,000 international manufacturers.
"From the very beginning I envisioned the new showroom to look and feel like a fine arts gallery," Levy said. "Each rug needs to be treated as a work of art and displayed in the same way."
He said the showroom is a clean, minimal and sophisticated space. "It allows the designs and rugs to shine. The gallery has a simple aesthetic, where all distractions are eliminated."
Warp & Weft has extensive custom capabilities and recently added a collection of customizable handed-tufted designs. All of its rugs are GoodWeave certified, which ensures that no child labor was used in manufacturing.
The new showroom is in Suite 1203 of the D&D Building, 979 Third Ave., and the original showroom is at 145 Madison Ave.
