Target Corp. gets lift from Mervyn's
MINNEAPOLIS -Lifted by a predictably strong performance in its core Target Stores and an unexpectedly strong earnings gain at Mervyn's, Target Corp. pushed fourth-quarter profits before one-time items up by 5.9 percent, to $552 million from $522 million last year.Net income rose at a somewhat faster pace, by 11.
